Recycling machinery supplier WENDT Corp. has announced the formation of WENDT GmbH. The announcement represents a continued growth strategy by the company to expand its international presence and better serve customers globally.

With Buffalo, N.Y.-based WENDT’s 45 years of experience and success in North America, the development of Hamm, Germany-based WENDT GmbH establishes an operational footprint and easier customer access to WENDT’s products in Europe. WENDT will leverage complementary resources of European partners, including longstanding relationships with MTB in France and Moros in Spain, to support manufacturing in central Europe. The exclusive partnerships will aid in accelerating strategic delivery of WENDT’s recyclable materials processing plants throughout Europe and Asia, while also providing sales, service, and support directly from Europe.

The announcement of WENDT GmbH comes after the company released international expansion plans with the promotion of Ethan Willard to global director of business development and the hiring of industry veteran Dennis Law in July. “As we can proudly call ourselves the market leader in North America, WENDT Corp. now shows our commitment to support global market demands for our shredder technology,” Law says. Law’s efforts will focus on direct sales in Germany, customer engagement and after sales, service, and support. He will also be responsible for the coordination of WENDT’s partners for the execution of projects and international sales and strategic agreements.

In 2019, WENDT outlined a strategic plan that aligned with the company’s priorities for future growth. These transformation initiatives have aided the company to accelerate enterprise growth and establish a global framework to serve customers worldwide. During that time, WENDT restructured its sales organization with the addition of regional sales representatives, while expanding its project management and engineering teams, and doubling staff on the service team. The company also invested heavily in global supply chain capabilities to meet evolving needs of customers. WENDT established partnerships with highly specialized companies, strengthening the company’s ability to deliver more product, on-time and with better quality.

“We have taken a conservative approach to our growth strategy but have continued to position ourselves for future growth as a global enterprise,” President Tom Wendt says. “The organic growth we have experienced over the last 10 years, along with the strategic initiatives we’ve established, have paved the way to the formation of WENDT GmbH. Our streamlined processes, growing strategic partnerships, investments in best-in-class technology, and our European manufacturing capabilities all contribute to the strong foundation that will make us successful as we enter new global markets.”
