The Young Executive of the Year Award is gaining momentum since launching in 2020.
The award, presented by the ISRI Young Executives Council (ISRIYE), was created to promote the accomplishments of successful young professionals in the recycled materials industry by highlighting their contributions and dedication, along with a high degree of demonstrated leadership potential. Over the years, submission requirements have pivoted to a peer nomination entry process.
“This has been a really exciting transition,” said Lacey Capps, ISRI Director of Chapter Relations and ISRIYE Council Staff Liaison. “Nominators play a critical role in this award process. Whether you are a supervisor or peer, it is an opportunity to acknowledge individuals who are making an integral impact within their company, community and the industry.”
The nomination process, open to ISRI members only, requires the nominator to make the case for impact, to share examples, and first-hand experiences. The Award Review Panel is composed of anonymous ISRI member participants who score each nomination independently. “This year’s entries were stellar and collectively diverse in position and industry experience. If these (10) nominees represent the future of the recycled materials industry, we’re in great hands. Idea-generation, thoughtful leadership and a strong passion for the industry were common threads represented throughout,” said Capps.

The award will be presented to the 2023 recipient, Sean Daoud, on Thursday, April 20, as part of the ISRI2023 Convention and Exposition in Nashville, Tennessee.
